Think Energy operates in 13 markets across the US. In all markets except Connecticut, we offset 100% of your electricity consumption with renewable energy certificates from wind, solar, and hydro resources. In Connecticut, our products meet the state's renewable portfolio standard but cannot be marketed as "clean," "renewable," or "green" under Connecticut's specific regulatory requirements.
Energy deregulation lets you choose your electricity supplier instead of being stuck with one company. You get competitive rates and options that fit your needs. Your local utility still handles everything else—billing, maintenance, meter reading, emergencies, and delivering power through the same lines you've always used. Think Energy simply becomes your supplier while your utility continues managing the infrastructure.
Contact your local utility immediately. They're responsible for maintaining the power lines and grid that deliver electricity to your home or business.
We purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) produced by wind, solar, and hydro facilities. These certificates represent clean energy generated and added to the grid.
A Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) proves that one megawatt-hour of electricity was generated from a renewable source and added to the grid. RECs can be bought and sold separately from physical electricity, allowing you to support clean energy development regardless of where your electrons come from.
